摘要

The design of helical speed reducer is mainly a process based on analytical and empirical equations. The complexity of the product imposes a big number of empirical factors to be used in calculus, which often varies within a range. The tendency of the designers to use factors that ensure a high level of safety on the final products meets, nowadays, the market demands: to have compact and cheap products. In this context the simulations based on finite element method can be a useful tool for the designer. This paper is focused on the geometrical modeling and finite element analysis of the stresses distributions on the shafts and the housing of a two-stage helical gear reducer.
