Wrestle while you learn: EMG as a teaching tool for undergraduate skeletal muscle physiology teaching

Didactic lectures can be made more interesting by incorporating different teaching aids during the classroom session. The electromyogram (EMG) can be easily demonstrated in a practical session (4, 5). However, in this paper, we describe the use of the EMG as a tool during a lecture series to demonstrate and explain various aspects of skeletal muscle physiology. The aim of this exercise was to make to make the learning of skeletal muscle physiology more interesting by using the EMG to demonstrate the various aspects of muscle physiology.
