An education in sustainability

The £7.9 million Carnegie Primary School in Fife has been designed to meet the specifications for BREEAM Outstanding, and is hoping to become the first primary school in the country to gain this top recognition for its sustainability. "This is nothing like a conventional school," says Morgan Sindall regional design manager Andy Walker. "It creates excitement when people see it and the children can't wait until it's open. We have moved away from the long, straight corridors with classrooms coming off them; every time you turn a corner there is something exciting, something different."
