HS2's skills college has been deemed "financially inadequate" and will be forced to prove its viability to the Further Education Commissioner (FEC). In a letter to the National College for Advanced Transport and Infrastructure (NCATI),FEC deputy director Karen Riley said an independent assessment of the college raised "serious concerns about the financial viability and long-term sustainability" of the college. It cited "serious cashflow pressures", requiring emergency financial aid from the Department for Education (DfE).
