'HS2 COLLEGE' WILL OPEN FOR SPECIALIST RAIL SKILLS TRAINING

A dedicated further education college will be established to train the next generation of engineering workers who will build the High Speed 2 (HS2) railway link. The college, which has the backing of several government departments and HS2 Ltd, the company responsible for developing the line, is expected to open in 2017, though its location has not yet been announced. It will deliver the training and qualifications needed for high-speed rail projects, including rail engineering, environmental skills and construction.
