The M-channel maximally decimated filter bank is considered,nwhere, except in the ideal case of perfect reconstruction, aliasingndistortion, magnitude distortion, and phase distortion are present. Itnis shown how these can be controlled if the filter bank is designed by anmethod that optimizes the gain of an error system
