Another wine brew

Delaware micro Dogfish Head has added another malt and grape mix to the growing portfolio of bines or weers. Noble Rot drink gets 50.5 percent of its fermented sugars from grain and rest from grapes, where two white wine grapes were selected from 2011 Washington Winery of the Year winner Alexandria Nicole Cellars. The viognier grapes have been infected with Botrytis which shrivels the grapes and intensifies their sweetness - a phenomenon in the wine world known as Noble Rot - hence the name.The other grape is a Pinot Noir- again flavour-intensified by leaving bunches on the vine after the main crop. Getting tanker loads of must from Washington to the east coast was apparently quite a challenge.
