1. We are expecting strong demand for alternative protein ‘meat’ offerings (plant-based) from the Japanese consumer. Theconsumer base is already familiar with, and utilises plant-based products within their diet (tofu and natto) and we are increasinglywitnessing alternative protein ‘meat’ product launches, both on-trade and off-trade from Japanese manufacturers.2. International players are also starting to explore the market and we believe the westernised dietary shift that we have beentracking in Japan offers both a risk and an opportunity for international alternative protein companies.
