Architecture is a Team Sport

The carefully crafted set of working drawings for the Kimbell Art Museum (hereinafter, Kimbell) in Fort Worth documents along and complex process of design decision-making that started well before the building's architects were selected and continued through to the final days of the construction process. Though Louis Kahn deservedly receives credit for his role in the building's success, it is important to acknowledge that he was only one part of an extraordinary team of people who helped conceive, refine and execute this landmark work of architecture. This essay seeks to give credit to one other leading player throughout the process and to a group of key people who developed one signature piece of the project.
