In the 1967 British comedy, "Bedazzled," Dudley Moore plays Stanley Moon, a sad-sack short-order cook at a miserable greasy spoon, who is madly in love with Margaret Spencer (Eleanor Bron), a waitress at the same restaurant. Stanley is too shy to approach Margaret to ask for a date, but in walks the Devil Himself, in the form of Peter Cook, who offers Stanley seven wishes in exchange for his eternal soul. It's the ancient Faust Legend, updated to Swinging '60s London.
