Microsoft Access Reports: Sorting and Grouping 101

Admit it: You mainly use the Microsoft Access wizards to create your reports, then just move the fields around to your liking. Sometimes it's hard to believe you get paid to do that. But every once in a while, a problem comes up that has you digging a little deeper and earning that paycheck. A typical scenario might be that you create a report, and everything is working great until your boss asks, "Can you sort these dates so the most recent ones are at the top?" Pretty simple, huh? So you shuffle back to your cubicle and modify the query on which the report is based to sort in descending order on the Date field, patting yourself on the back for a job well done.
