As a Chinese-American woman, it is a dilemma and difficult for them to establish their own identity in a complicate culture environment. Through text analysis of "No Name Woman" and " White Tigers" in The Woman Warrior :Memoirs of a Girlhood among Ghosts, this paper argues that the author also the narrator Maxine Hong Kingston tries to seek a balance way between the traditional Chinese culture and dominant white mainstream culture to construct self-identity by demonstrating identity construction of several women presented in the novel. This paper suggests that successful construction of a specific identity should be based on the combination and integration of this two different culture.
