Its characteristics and system framework especially the advantages of the digital process level technology are elaborated. Then we take the case of an economical solution to 6 kV busbar differential protection to illustrate the implementation of the scheme. Finally, we apply the scheme in Huaneng Haimen Power Plant (6*1000MW) ECMS project successfully, and prove its validity and feasibility.
