Teachers'English-Chinese code-switching in higher vocational English classroom enjoys great variation in inserted linguistic units and types.From the perspective of Systemic Functional Linguistics,this variation is deter-mined by register theory.Register analysis indicates that the three variables of register theory (field,tenor,and mode)restrict teachers' use of code-switching in higher vocational college English class.%高职英语课堂教师英汉语码转换在语言单位和类型上存在极大变异性,系统功能语言学认为,这种变异性是由语域理论决定的。分析表明:语域理论的三要素语场、语旨和语式分别从不同侧面制约着教师英汉语码转换在高职英语课堂这一情景语境下的运用。
