Energy supply security and climate issues have been pushing the development of energy efficiency, unconventional fossil fuel and renewables, symbolizing the current global energy contest and competition. They are three main technological roadmaps for the energy transition today and tomorrow. Meanwhile,a great leap forward in technology and the globally-growing concern of the environment are changing the structure of energy demand. In this way,the source of energy is becoming diversi-fied and pluralistic. These factors will lead to consistent energy transition. China is actively taking part in this process with its own advantages and disadvantages. In order to keep the momentum,China should solidify its superiority and overcome its weak-nesses.
