君子三畏

Confucius said:“ A man of respectable character is awed by mandate of heaven , big man and sage’s word.”“ Awe”means fear of beings, but not aweemotions.Instead of big man and sage, even sage’ s word, a man of respectable character is awed by “ mandate of heaven” which is conveyed by sage ’ s word, that is the voiceless word of Ren as emotions .“ Sage” means listening and speaking of authentic emotions . A man of respectable character possesses political rights , therefore , there are more men of respectable char-acter in modern society than in ancient society .Only in true modern society , can everyone be a man of re-spectable character , or even a sage .But when there is no aweemotions , there is no man of respectable char-acter.%孔子曰：“君子有三畏：畏天命，畏大人，畏圣人之言”。孔子所说的“畏”，不是“惧”（惧怕），而是敬畏；所敬畏的不是大人、圣人本身，甚至也不是圣人之言，而是圣人之言所传达的“天命”，即仁爱之道的无声之音。“圣”就是倾听良知的呼唤并宣讲这种本真的情感。君子意味着拥有政治权力，因此，古代社会君子少，现代社会君子多；唯有真正的现代社会，才有可能人人都是君子甚至圣人。但没有敬畏感，就不是君子。
