Learner autonomy has been the hotspot of interest in modern language teaching at home and a‐board ,w hich has become one of the indispensable teaching aims in college English since the College English curriculum reform's effective execution .This paper made an empirical study on the relationship between learner autonomy and achievements of 205 non‐English major students . According to the results , the students'autonomous learning competence is at the medium level .T he students'autonomous learning com‐petence is significantly correlated with learner autonomy .%自主学习已成为当代国内外语教育研究的热点,随着教育部《大学英语课程教学要求》的颁布,自主学习能力已成为大学英语重要的教学目标之一。对200名来自西安两所高校非英语专业大一学生进行了调查,分析其自主学习能力和成绩的相关性,并对收集到的数据用SPSS软件进行了描述统计分析、独立样本T检验。结果表明:总的来说,非英语专业大学生自主学习能力处于中等水平。自主学习能力的五个方面(了解教师的教学目的和要求、制定学习计划和目标、有效使用学习策略、监控学习策略的使用、监控和评估英语学习过程)都和学生的大学英语成绩显著相关。
