This paper comparatively investigates it in English and Chinese poems, suggesting that significant differences exist in emotional functions expressed in long and short verses. It has found that shorter verses appear more dignified and vigorous, and convey warnings, whereas longer verses are more graceful and smooth, with strong narrative function. however, the verses’ irregularly random short and long make them appear more lyric and sweet.% 节奏支点是语言情感传达的关键。
