%Based on Hemingway's Green Hills of Africa, this paper explores the relationship between man and nature from the perspective of eco-criticism, demonstrating Hemingway's contradictory view on eco-ethics. In his works, Hemingway shows mixed feelings of love and indifference towards the spectacular African scenes. Meanwhile, his works also indicates his ravage and feelings of pity to the animals he desires to conquer. At the end of this paper, an ecological enlightenment was brought out --- man and nature should co-exist in a harmonious way;nature should be loved and cherished.
