谈对《菜根谭》两种译本的理解

摘要

以保罗・怀特和周文标的《菜根谭》英译本为研究对象，随机各抽取20条相同译文，对语篇、句子、词义、修辞、文化背景、作者意图进行理解分析，并佐以语料库检索为证，探讨两种译本在理解方面的相关问题，通过比较试图发现翻译文言文作品的一些规律和注意事项。%This paper discussed the comprehension issues in two English versions of Caigen Tan (Tending the Roots of Wisdom) by Paul White and ZHOU Wen-biao.In 20 random items, the author compared the text cohesion , sen-tence meaning, words, rhetorical devices, cultural backgrounds and the original writer ’s intensions.With some proven statistics by concordance, the author sought to find some solutions to controversial issues in translation of ancient Chinese works.
