关联理论视角委婉语的口译策略

摘要

This paper explores the issues of euphemism and the interpretation of euphemism in the light of Relevance Theory advanced by Sperber and Wilson. Relevance is a currently new theory,which is mainly concerned about cognition and communication. Within the framework of Relevance Theory,euphemism interpretation is an ostensive-inferential communication process,an interlingual interpretive use of language and a dynamic process of seeking for optimal process. This paper intends to prove that Relevance Theory can be employed to guide the interpretation process of euphemisms and to use the Relevance Theory to account for the interpretation strategies of euphemism. Within the framework of Relevance Theory,interpretation strategies of euphemism between Chinese and English are literal interpretation,interpretive interpretation and adaption.%　　斯皮伯和威尔逊（Sperber and Wilson）的关联理论是一门新兴的关于认知和交际的理论，它已被广泛运用于口译和笔译研究。在关联理论的框架下，委婉语口译是一个明示--推理的交际过程，一个语际间的阐释过程，一个寻求最佳关联的动态过程。其口译策略是：直接翻译法、间接翻译法和变通法。
