With adopting quantitative and qualitative methods,this article probes into the most frequently used hedges in English and Chinese business correspondences. The results show that there are not only some similarities but differences existing between them, which are mainly caused by the language universality as well as different context cultures. Therefore, some proposals are put forward to the teaching and study of business correspondences, such as: the teacher may employ the way of culture comparison in class to avoid negative transfer while improve positive transfer; the second language learners should cultivate their awareness of cross culture for developing pragmatic competences and so on.%通过定量与定性的方法对英汉商务信函中高频模糊限制语的使用进行研究,结果显示英汉商务信函中高频模糊限制语的使用既存在相同之处也存在一定差异,分析得出这一现象出现的主要原因是由于语言共性及中国和以英语为母语的国家分属不同的语境文化等因素。据此对商务英语教与学提出相关建议:教师应采取文化对比的方式教学,促进正迁移的同时避免负迁移的发生;二语学习者应培养自己的跨文化意识,提高语用能力。
