《东方杂志》与西方世界：1904－1948

摘要

The Eastern Miscellany is one of the earliest and longest issued magazines by the Commercial Press in China. Since its first issue, it has been dedicating in translating and spreading the western world, especially the western science, society and literature. The Eastern Miscellany actively took the temporal western world to Chinese people, making an all-round recognition of the western world by Chinese. And it greatly promoted the social modernization of China in the late Qing Dynastys, which, in enlightening Chinese, has great significance.%《东方杂志》是商务印书馆创办最早、刊行最久的杂志之一。该刊自创刊之日起，一直致力于对西方世界的译介与传播，其对西方科技、社会、文学的介绍成绩显著。《东方杂志》积极地将当时的西方世界呈现在国人面前，增进了国人对西方各个领域的认知，具有“启导国民”的启蒙意义，对于清末民国时期的中国向现代社会方向发展具有极大的促进作用。
