随着“基督教与教育”关系的重要性逐渐被在华传教士认同，一批高质量的教会学校如雨后春笋般地开始在神州大地涌现而来，由此学校教材的缺失开始成为创办学校者面临的一大问题，为了尽快摆脱这一棘手的局面，经过一些传教士商议相继成立了几个学校教材编译机构，如学校教科书委员会、广学会等。这些机构不但为教会学校提供了急需的教材，也为清政府所办的洋学堂提供了所需的教科书。客观地讲，此举对我国近代新式学堂的发展做出了重要的贡献，在中国近代教育史上的地位和影响是不容抹煞和忽视的。%With the time passing ,the importance of relationship between education and Christian was learned gradually by western missionary in China .A number of high quality church school poured out in every part of china .Then for the new school ,one of the issues is lack of school textbooks .To solve this problem ,there were some new writing and translation institutions .These institutions were not only providing church school with textbooks ,but also providing textbooks to some government schools .Ob-jectively speaking ,this act was a great contribution to the new Chinese school ,whose position and influ-ence in the history of modern Chinese education are not allowed to be neglected .
