It is well-known that foreign language is considered as a communicative tool,but its humanistic function hasn't been paid enough attention to.Professor Li Xiao Ju,one of Chinese advocates of communicative approach does not only consider foreign language as a tool,but she puts more emphasis on humanistic foreign language teaching.That is humanistic views on foreign language teaching and the relationship between teachers and students,which has clarified their essential characteristic of communication and humanism.%外语教育的人文素质教育功能,在外语教学中还没有得到足够的重视。我国交际教学法的倡导者之一李筱菊教授的交际教学思想不仅关注外语的工具性,更强调外语教育的人文性。具体体现在人文主义的外语教学观和人文主义的师生观。阐明了外语教学具有人文性与工具性的本质特征。
