Through the queries of one of the current College English orientations,EGE( English for General Educa-tion),this paper proposes to shelve orientation dispute and focus our reform on the crux of the real College English draw-back:the curriculum structure and teaching approach which are similar to High School English.%以对通识英语内涵界定及其之于我国大学英语改革的适切性质疑为切入点,提出了大学英语教改搁置定位变革讨论、转而关注造成大学英语种种弊端的真正罪魁---与中学英语雷同的课程结构与教学方法---的建议。
