This article describes and reviews the organization and methods of a three-year (2000- 2003) interdisciplinary, multi-institutional cooperative research project entitled “Utilisation of Neuro-cognitive Science for the Improvement of Language Education in Hong Kong” . The project’s main objective is to improve the learning of Chinese (first language) and English (second language) by means of neuro-cognitively supported teaching methods in the schools in Hong Kong.
