The English foundation of non-english major students in our private university is weak, the self-consciousness of learning is poor, and the learning motivation is not enough. this situation private brings severe challenges for college non-english major English teaching. So, we must have a comprehensive understanding about the non-english major students’ English learning motivation and its influencing factors in non-governmental college, then, we can put forward a feasibility strategy on how to im-prove and maintain their English learning motivation.%在我国民办院校非英语专业学生普遍英语基础薄弱,学习自觉性较差,学习动力不足,这就给民办院校非英语专业英语教学带来严峻的挑战。因此,只有对民办院校非英语专业学生的英语学习动机及其影响因素有了全面的了解,才能够够针对如何提高并维持他们的英语学习动机提出可行性策略。
