In order to study the reasons for reluctance to use computers of teachers who have had computer training 150 elementary school teachers in an urban school district responded to a thirty item questionnaire. The variables studied were the following: Gender, years of teaching experience, and grade level taught.;Findings indicate that male teachers, teachers with less than fifteen years experience and teachers in grades 4-6 were less reluctant to use computers. Many teachers felt that training had been inadequate, that too much material was covered in the training sessions and that follow-up was poor. Teachers felt that the school district had a strong commitment to the program but the overcrowded curriculum prevented a fully implemented program.;Teachers felt that more computers were needed: one per classroom was deemed to be inadequate. Software was considered both plentiful and appropriate by the majority. Teachers agreed that students showed great interest in using computers.
