An Investigation into the Major Factors of College Students' Demotivation in English Learning: A Case Study

摘要

本研究旨在对大学生英语学习动机减退的主要因素进行调查研究。具体地讲，本论文试图探索:1）有哪些主要因素使大学生在英语学习中出现了不同程度的动机减退的现象？2）造成学习动机减退的各种因素是怎么样共同影响着他们的英语学习的？
　　 本文通过综述国内外学者和研究者对动机减退的定义，以及在第二语言学习中造成动机减退的因素及其如何减少动机减退因素出现的方法，分析了研究所取得的成果和尚存在的问题，为本论文的撰写提供了理论基础。
　　 本研究在大学英语学习者的大学第一学年进行，研究对象为来自工商管理、国际经济与贸易和财务信息管理三个不同专业的150名大一学生。研究所采用的研究方法有封闭式问卷调查、开放式问卷调查、采访等。研究中得出了大量的描述性数据。对调差问卷、采访中提供的数据进行分析归类总结，得出了研究结论。
　　 本研究发现:1）造成大学生英语学习动机减退的因素主要有与教师相关的因素、与学生本人相关的因素、与过去学习经历相关的因素，还有一些因素涉及学习资料、学习氛围、同伴压力、课业压力等方面;2）增强学习动机的因素与削弱学习动机的因素在共同作用于学生的英语学习过程，学生的学习动机是在不断变化的，增强与削弱随时会发生，我们所能做的是尽可能地排除学习动机减退因素的影响;3）在参考了学生提出的建议后，针对教师、学生本人、学习氛围等方面提出了相应的对策。
