从语用角度探讨A Farewell to Arms两个中译本的人物对话翻译

摘要

本文以小说对话翻译为研究对象，从语用角度分析了A Farewell to Arms两个中译本的对话翻译。这两个中译本分别是由林疑今和汤永宽翻译的。对话是小说中必不可少的部分，起到刻画人物形象和推动故事情节的作用，而且AFarewell to Arms中的人物对话约占整部小说四分之三的篇幅，但是人们对小说对话翻译的重视程度与其地位极不相称。小说对话是对人们日常会话的模仿，虽然经过作者的精心编排，仍然受到语用原则的制约。本文从语用角度探讨小说对话翻译，提出了小说对话翻译的语用学方法，即运用语用学相关知识透彻理解源语对话的意义，抓住其言外之意，根据语用对等原则，利用具体的翻译策略，在目的语对话中尽可能地将其完美再现。 本文从A Farewell to Arms两个中译本中选出对话翻译的例子进行了比较和分析，指出了其中的利弊得失，验证了用语用学方法指导小说对话翻译的合理性和可操作性，为小说对话翻译及其翻译评析提供了理论依据，并希望小说对话翻译能得到更多的关注。
