从巴斯奈特的文化翻译观看关中民俗语汇的传译——以《白鹿原》中的民俗语汇为例

摘要

翻译是人类最悠久的文化交流活动，翻译离不开语言的转换，但它并不只是单纯的语言转换，因为语言反映文化，而且受文化制约。自一九九零年由苏珊·巴斯奈特和安德烈嘞弗尔合编的《翻译，历史与文化》一书出版，他们第一次正式提出翻译研究“文化转向”的发展方向，研究界自此打破了传统的观念，把翻译研究带入了一个多维发展的新阶段。巴斯奈特认为翻译的单位应该是文化，翻译就是文化内部与文化之间的交流，翻译等值就是原文与译文之间文化功能的等值。因此，翻译的目的应该是跨文化信息传递，达到文化的最佳交流与融合。巴斯奈特文化翻译观的提出，标志着翻译研究迈向了一个新台阶，有着深刻的时代意义和理论指导意义。
　　民俗语汇是随着民俗语言学的产生而进入语言学领域的一个新术语。作为“人类最基本的口头的非物质文化遗产”，民俗语汇应该受到广泛关注，人们有责任去保护并传承这项属于人类共同的文化遗产。陕西关中是中华文明的发祥地之一，有着深厚的文化底蕴，其民俗文化更是中国文化不可缺少的一部分。研究关中地区的民俗文化及其语汇的文化传译，有着非常重要的意义。本文选用陕西代表文学巨著《白鹿原》中的关中民俗语汇为语料，试以巴斯奈特的文化翻译观为指导，在对负载着丰富民俗文化的关中民俗语汇进行文化解读的基础上，提出异于常规的归化异化的“移植”翻译策略，详细剖析了独具关中特色的民俗语汇的具体翻译方法，以便更好地传递这些语汇中的文化内涵，实现有效的文化交流与融合。
　　本文的研究目的在于指出苏珊·巴斯奈特的文化翻译观对关中民俗语汇传译的指导意义，在翻译的文化转向研究中，要达到文化信息的最佳传递，翻译过程与文化解读密不可分，“移植”不失为一种可行的翻译策略。本文对于关中民俗语汇的翻译策略和具体翻译方法的实践，进一步验证了在文化翻译理论的指导下，民俗语汇传译的可能性和操作性。
