译者主体视角下的散文英译研究——以张培基《英译中国现代散文选(三)》为例

摘要

散文言辞华美，情感丰富，意蕴深邃，堪称中华文化的瑰宝。令人遗憾的是，现代翻译界从事英译汉工作者众，致力于汉英翻译者寡，献身于散文英译者更是少之又少。为了弥补这一缺憾，张培基先生毅然选择了散文的英译，尤其是现代优秀散文的翻译。其结晶《英译中国现代散文选》被誉为不是教材的好教材，它不仅为中国学者深入研究翻译理论与技巧提供了丰富多彩的典型实例，更为外国学者了解和研究1919年“五四”运动以来中国人鲜活的思想开启了一扇窗。
　　 译者这一翻译过程中最为重要的主体因素曾一度处于匠人的层次，拿着微薄的报酬，瑟缩在文学传统的边缘，其主体性长期遭到忽视。而“文化转向”迎来了译者主体性研究的热潮。在“文化转向”这股春风的吹拂下，译者的主体性问题得到了海内外学者的广泛关注。译者的枷锁渐行渐少，舞姿日趋曼妙。近年来对于这一问题的研究逐步深入，并被作为一个新视角用于众多译品的分析上。
　　 鉴于此，本研究以译者主体性为视角，对张培基的《英译中国现代散文选（三）》进行了分析与研究。本研究首先回顾了译者地位由幕后到前台的嬗变;接着探讨了译者主体性以及一些与之相关的问题;然后以译者主体性为视角，从宏观和微观两个层面对《英译中国现代散文选（三）》中的典型译例进行了分析;宏观层面主要探讨了译者在译本的选择、翻译目的的确定以及翻译策略的抉择等方面的主导作用;微观层面分析了译者在词汇、句法以及修辞等方面的决定性作用。
　　 基于以上分析，本研究得出结论:译者作为翻译活动的主体已经一步一步的从幕后走到了前台，其主体性也逐步得到了肯定;通过对张培基散文中典型译例的分析，无论是叠音词的处理还是分句法、合句法等句法手段的运用，抑或是明喻、拟人等修辞手法的再现，无不体现着译者的主体性;此外，翻译活动之外的因素，如文本的选择、翻译目的的确定、翻译策略的选用也同样体现着译者的主体意识;张培基主体性在散文英译中得当的发挥，造就了其精美的译文，为其赢得了斐闻海内外的名声。
