电影《低俗小说》字幕汉译案例分析

摘要

字幕翻译是为电影和电视节目的对话提供同步说明的过程。近年来，中国引进的海外大片越来越多。2012年国内各院线引进的好莱坞大片达到55部，比之前一年增加了十多部。此外，还有大量的影片，因为引进限额和审查等各方面原因，不能走进电影院与观众见面，只能通过如网络等其他途径收看。因此，字幕翻译对于人才的需求也是越来越迫切，越来越高。
　　然而很多电影字幕的翻译都出现了各种各样的问题，误译，漏译的现象比比皆是。有的译文甚至根本与原文风马牛不相及，严重影响人们对电影的理解。翻译人员水平良莠不齐，成为业内最严重而亟待解决的问题。
　　本文通过对电影《低俗小说》网络版字幕的案例进行分析，找出当今电影字幕英汉翻译的常见问题，并分析出现这些问题的原因。近年来，许多中外学者都开始注意并重视字幕翻译研究，并提出了许多有价值的观点。尤金·奈达认为，翻译是使用最贴近，最自然的对等语重现原作的过程，读者对译文的接受程度是衡量译文价值的重要工具。本课题将就奈达的功能对等理论出发，研究这一理论运用于指导电影字幕翻译的可行性，并在此基础上探讨电影字幕翻译的目的，原则和翻译手法，分析译者在字幕翻译过程中所处的地位及担当的责任。
