90后大学生英语词典使用现状调查——基于对九江学院二年级学生的研究

摘要

词典是语言学习者们不可或缺的学习工具,它在语言学习和应用的过程中的作用举足轻重。正如Rubin和Thompson(1994)在《如何成为一个更加成功的语言学习者:走向自主学习》一书中所说的,能够帮助学习者获取语言知识的有效资源共有五大类,即语言教师,语言课本,词典,语法参考书和媒体资料。然而随着技术的不断进步,英语学习词典的发展呈现出很多新的趋势,各类功能多样、携带方便、使用便捷的电子词典尤其受到了新一代大学生的青睐。
　　 本文采取定量和定性的分析方法对90后非英语专业大学生的词典使用情况进行了调查.研究者对研究对象进行了问卷调查,并对他们实施了词汇水平的测试,包括词汇广度和和深度知识的测试。最后使用SPSS统计软件对问卷调查和测试的结果进行了分析。得出了有关词典使用的种类、使用目的和频率、查询习惯和策略、词典使用态度统计结果,然后将这些词典使用情况的统计结果与调查对象的词汇水平测试成绩对比,得出了词典使用与词汇水平之间的相关性统计结果。最后对90后大学生的词典使用趋势以及两种主要类型的词典使用对90后大学生的词汇水平和词典使用策略的影响进行了讨论。
　　 结果表明随着各类电子词典在新一代大学生中被广泛使用,传统的纸质词典作为重要的语言学习工具并没有得到充分利用,这在相当程度上影响了当代大学生的英语学习水平。因此,英语教师急需在词典使用方面加强对90后大学生的指导。
