英文励志电影对激发学生英语学习动机的实证研究

摘要

本研究是针对英语学习动机普遍很低的高职高专学生进行的一项实证研究，通过尝试采取英文励志电影欣赏课引入高职英语教学的方式来研究英文励志电影课是否能够提高学生英语学习的动机和成绩。
　　高职学生英语学习成绩差，对待英语学习的动机不足，兴趣不高，一直是困扰学生和英语教师的一个问题。将英文电影引入到外语教学很早就受到了中外教育工作者的重视和认可，然而大部分关于电影教学的研究只局限于高校学生的听说教学和文学欣赏教学，对所选电影也没有具体的分类研究。针对高职生，通过使用英文励志电影以激发学生英语学习动机和提高学生的英语学习成绩的研究相对贫乏。
　　基于学习者学习动机研究、克拉申输入假设、情感过滤假设、语境理论等理论，本研究选取河北衡水市某高职高专院校的两个自然班分别作为控制班(26人)和实验班(29人)，对实验班进行了一个学期（14周）的英文励志电影的教学实验，控制班采取传统教学方式。在实验过程中采用问卷、测试、访谈等研究方法搜集量化和质化数据。具体研究问题包括:1）英文励志电影是否能促进英语学习动机的提高？2）英文励志电影是否能提高学生的学习成绩？3）如果可以促进英语学习动机并提高学习成绩，具体表现在哪些方面？成绩提高程度如何？
　　对两个班学生实验前后的变化及实验过程中的表现等相关数据的对比分析显示:1）英文励志电影能促进英语学习动机的提高，实验班学生的的英语学习动机有了明显提高，总的动机水平有所提高，两个班实验前的总动机平均分都是2.71，试验后控制班是3.16，实验班是3.42，实验班增长幅度大于控制班;2）英文励志电影能提高学生的学习成绩，实验前控制班平均成绩为87.76，实验班为93.31，显著性值0.082，差别不大，试验后控制班平均成绩为93.03，实验班为127.54，显著性值0.012，差别显著，实验班英语学习成绩显著高于上学期和控制班的成绩;3）学生课堂上注意力更加集中，课堂教学参与度提高，英语听说读写能力显著提高。
　　研究结果表明在高职院校开设英文励志电影课能加强学生的英语学习动机，提高学生的英语成绩，对高职英语教师的教学活动具有一定的参考价值。作为引导者，教师应转变一言堂的旧观念，引导学生更多地参与到教学过程中，使其成为听、说、读、写能力训练活动的主角。然而，本研究亦存在两点不足:1）研究对象局限于一所学校且样本较小;2）研究者本人承担研究对象的英语教学任务，影响学生真实想法的表达。因此，本研究的推广价值有待于进一步扩大研究对象的规模进行验证。
