莫言小说《红高粱家族》在美国的译介：接受与变异

摘要

本论文分为五章：第一章则是对莫言小说的文学回顾，并阐述了本论文主题，设想，方法论及创新处。第二章、第三章和第四章是论文的主体部分，主要讨论译者葛浩文对《红高粱家族》文本的接受和在具体翻译实践中对文本进行变异。在这三章，译者对文本的接受首先体现在在本国诗学和意识形态的影响下，对何种文本进行翻译的一个选择过程，其次体现在对具体文本内容和文化的接受程度。变异是指在除此之外的因素，基于对可能的读者的考虑而对文本进行改动的过程。这三章从人物性格的塑造，情节以及叙事模式进行具体的讨论。译者倾向于选择那些在叙事技巧、艺术特色等方面与本国相应的作品。译者认为本国的文化是处于优势的地位。因此在文本的选择和翻译中倾向于“归化”的方法。“在翻译过程中，如果基于语言层面的考虑与某种意识形态或诗学相冲突，就放弃对前者的考虑”。在译本中，我们可以看出译者不可避免的受到本国和译者本身的意识形态以及诗学的影响，在对文本主题和内容接受的同时也有变异。另外译者在翻译过程中是以读者为中心的，这样在翻译莫言的《红高粱家族》过程中，因为考虑潜在的读者和市场，变异又不可避免的发生了。第五章是本文的结论部分，简要总结各个章节，并指出研究中的局限和不足，以及一些问题，以期待得到更多的研究。
