Impact Behaviour of Roadside Round Wooden Posts

In the paper the impact behaviour of round wooden posts is studied. A limited experimental program has been carried out and various aspects concerning the impact behaviour have been evaluated. The paper reports the restoring force capacity. Soil properties, length and diameter, impact speed, humidity and temperature have been considered. All test results are from round poles produced from pine. The important parameters were the soil properties, the impact speed as well as humidity and temperature. The paper gives a basis for design considerations.
