Experimental Studies on Electromagnetic Noise from a Switching IC on Printed Circuit Board by close-field sensor and 3M Method Switching electronic device on a printed circuit board (PCB) is one of main source of electromagnetic noise. Such noise properties should be made clear and the good methods to decrease the conductive and radiative noise should be investigated. In this paper, we show some experimental results on the conductive and radiative noise from the PCB as a model of a stabilizer of fluorescent lamp driving circuit. PCBs with thickness of 0.22, 0.51 and 0.76 mm and strip line width of 1,5 and 7 mm are employed. The measurements had been done by a close field sensor and by 3m method in an anechoic chamber, respectively. The dependency of the noise on PCB thicknesses and strip line widths is described.
