In this paper, we propose the GRIX system, which is a visual programming system specified for interprocessor communications in parallel computing. We will outline the system and explain its Graphical User Interface (GUI) based operations. GUI-based operations enable users to input the structure of interprocessor communications with intuitive images. Using this system to generate code eliminates user tasks of translation from images produced by users into textual program codes. Moreover, most programmers construct the pictorial images of communications' behavior on paper or in their minds, when faced with interprocessor communications during parallel programming. By adopting the GUI interaction with the sense of the programmers' pictorial tracing, this system can provide an effective programming environment for most programmers.
