Information and Communication Technology (ICT) hasrnmade significant impact on our society and education inrngeneral. Malaysia, as a developing country, hasrnimplemented a plan that integrates ICT into classroomrnwhich will produce a highly skilled workforce inrntechnology by the year 2020. The successfulrnimplementation of this plan will require teachers inrnMalaysia to acquire the requisite skills and knowledge inrnintegrating ICT in their teaching. This study investigatedrnthe attitudes and the use of ICT among pre-service VisualrnArt Education teachers at the Universiti TeknologirnMARA, Malaysia. A Teacher Technology Survey wasrnadministered to measure four factors related to thernintegration ICT in classroom (general and specific uses ofrnICT, attitudes toward ICT and areas of improvement). Thernfindings indicated that the Visual Art Education preservicernteachers used ICT moderately in conductingrninstruction in art classroom. Even though they were awarernof the impotency of integrating ICT into their dailyrninstruction, their level of proficiency were reported onlyrnat moderate level. Owing to the fact that lack of relevantrnprofessional development and support from schoolrnadministrator in term of time flexibility, facilities andrnInternet connection access, the teachers’ beliefs that theirrnlevels of ICT integration in the art classroom will bernincreased. It is envisaged that the findings of this studyrnwill contribute towards the understanding of the importantrnof ICT integration in the Visual Art Education subjectrnarea. It’s also hoped that this study will act as a guide forrnschool organization and Malaysian Ministry of Educationrntoward establishing a standard of successful ICTrnintegration.
