This paper presents a viable, proven, and applied approach to construct an integrated petrochemicalrnanalytical enterprise using commercially available off-the-shelf technology. A brief overview of thernchallenges faced by the process control industry is presented forming a context for the discussion.rnWell-designed industrial Ethernet networks are crucial to realize the above objectives.rnAn overview of key building blocks is discussed, including how they can be applied to solvernintegration issues.
