摘要

The Lee Tunnel project in London is the first phase of the Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT) scheme. When completed at the end of 2015 the scheme eliminated up to 40% of the stormwater overflows from London's combined sewers into the River Thames. This paper presents a brief history of London's sanitation system to provide the context for the scheme, followed by a description the hydraulic design of the Beckton Pumping Station which lifts the contents of the tunnel for treatment at Europe's largest wastewater treatment facility.
