How to effectively cultivate higher-order skills is the focus of global educational reforms. The key to developing higher-order skills is to promote students' deep learning. This article starts from the connotation and teaching logic of deep learning, and reveals the relationship between deep learning and the cultivation of higher-order abilities. It also puts forward five suggestions on how teachers can cultivate students' higher-order skills, further providing references for the development of higher-level abilities in the actual teaching implementation process. The contents of five suggestions are: 1. Stimulating students' learning motivation and grasping the implicit value goals; 2. Attaching importance to the design of student activities and strengthening the expansion of critical thinking; 3. Preventing false cooperation and establishing an effective learning community; 4. Paying attention to students' existing experience and promoting the development and creation of knowledge; 5. Arousing students to reflect on learning and boosting the realization of meaningful learning.
