Quality analysis of trolley shopping cart with six sigma approach

PT. AJI engaged in the manufacture of Trolley Shopping Cart was established in 1989. PT Abdi Juang Investama has been expanding its business to be more widely by adding products made, previously PT AJI only produce ordinary trolley models but now they produce with many types of trolley of various sizes. In this data processing, the writer tries to define six sigma project, defect type defect & CTQ (Critical To Quality), and define production number and defect number. Then performed by measuring the value of DPMO (Defect Per Milion Opportunity), and measured using a pareto diagram. Furthermore, the analysis is done by using the cause and effect diagram of Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram to find out the factors that influence the occurrence of defects in Trolley Shopping Cart products. Based on the type of defect found found there are 6 types of defects that is, Spot off with percentage value of 53%, Assy is not standard with a percentage value of 30%, Welding coarse with percentage value of 6%, sharp Cutting with percentage value of 4%, No average with a percentage value of 3%, Spot sprawl with a percentage value of 2%. One of the biggest defects is Spot off with a percentage value of 53%, the largest RPN value of FMEA is spot off with RPN value of 210, and the smallest RPN value is the lack of machine setting with RPN value 6.
