摘要

Bubble behaviour, such as coalescence and breakup affects significantly the outcome of the flotation process. Colliding bubbles coalesce when the interfacial liquid film becomes thinner and ruptures. Flotation frothers affect the bubble coalescence during the flotation process in several complex ways that are not included in the currently used flotation models. One of the major questions the be raised during the modelling is: what bubble size should be used and how does it change in the course of bubble translating from the point of creation to the surface. In this paper we discuss some aspects related to the viscoelastic properties of the bubble surfaces and approach velocity of bubbles that effect the coalescence.
