A Lateral Flow Test for Detection of Total Aflatoxin in Roasted Peanuts

Lateral flow tests named AgraStrip R were validated to test for total aflatoxins in roasted peanuts at cut-off levels of 4 ppb, 10 ppb and 20 ppb, respectively. The test is a one-step lateral flow immunochromatographic assay based on competition immunoassay format. It is a rapid semi-quantitative method with assay results obtained in 5 min. The study assessed accuracy of testing total aflatoxins in roasted peanuts. Results indicated the tests are accurate for semi-quantitative measurement of total aflatoxins greater or less than the indicated cut-off levels in roasted peanuts.
