In recent years a number of overseas universities have opened across Nigeria. These universitiestypically employ faculty with international experience to deliver many of their courses. These teachersoften need to tailor their teaching approach to meet the needs of Nigerian students. This paperdescribes the adjustments made by expatriate teachers to their teaching methods at an Americanstyle university in northern Nigeria. By discerning these teaching adjustments, we can suggestchanges in human resources and academic policies that could directly impact the teachers andstudents.
