Sensitization of an immunoassay chip was attempted using high-aspect-ratio nanopillars. Nanopillars made of polystyrene were fabricated on the chip by high-aspect-ratio nanoprint lechnology. AFP (alpha-fetoprotein) was detected by a F!A (fluorescence immunoassay) protocol with nanopillar chips and the enhancement of fluorescence intensities was confirmed. The area where the nanopillar diameter was 95 nm showed fluorescence intensity 34 times stronger than the conventional flat area.
