Status Update of the US Loran-C Development and Evaluation Programme

1. Prototype Breadboard GPS/Loran System Functional 1: includes GLIP Processor and combined antenna 2: GLIP Loran-only and GPS-Aided Loran solutions implemented 2. Prototype Brassboard GPS/Loran System in MMR will be complete in April 2003 1: will include Eurocard size all-in-view Loran receiver 3. Several flight tests (including ～ 40 approaches) on all-in-view receiver with H-field have generated positive empirical results: 1: accuracies meeting RNP 0.3 nm requirements for NPAs 2: continued operation through P-static conditions 4. Flight tests on integrated GPS/Loran system to begin 2003 5. Upgrade of US Loran infrastructure expected to improve results 6. Now beginning to gain appreciation for performance modern Loran system can provide to complement/backup GNSS.
